Can someone explain

Hello community. I'm working on a solar panel ground mount installation project on my farm - planning about 20 panels. The area has uneven terrain with mixed soil types. I've been researching and screw piles keep coming up as good for solar. Can someone explain why they're preferred and what I should know about installation?

Hello! Solar mounts are a perfect application for screw piles. Uneven terrain isn't a problem - that's a major advantage actually. Unlike concrete needing site prep, piles adjust to different heights without massive earthwork. Installation is dramatically faster too. For solar you need precise alignment and solid anchoring for wind loads. Found great info at https://how-to-work-with-screw-piles.blogspot.com/2025/06/what-is-pile-driver-and-why-do-you-need.html about why proper equipment ensures vertical accuracy and correct torque. Mixed soil is no issue with right tools. Minimal ground disturbance matters on working farms, and they're removable if you relocate your array.
