In this guide, I’m going to be guiding you through how to make WOW Classic Gold in WoW. Since the changes in Battle for Azeroth, it has become significantly harder to make gold. If you are on a high population server like I am, it is even more difficult. However, there are still some decent ways to make gold. One thing to note is that this is by no means an exhaustive list, there are several ways I am not mentioning that could net you better results depending on the circumstances. These are simply some ways that I have used over the years and continue to use now to make money.
Auction House Flipping
Once you have a decent stream of income coming in from professions, you may wish to start joining the big hitters of gold making and try your hand at flipping. This is simple economics: buy low, sell high. Again, TSM is going to help you do this much easier via shopping operations. In the video I cover different aspects of flipping, and I will discuss 2 of those here. First is a market reset, here is where you buy out all of a certain item, and relist for a higher price. Here it is crucial you UNDERSTAND your market. You must know the average price of the item, and whether or not it sells frequently enough for you. You must also be aware of a 'breaking point' on the auction house. For example there are 20 primal fire for 300 gold, 10 for 350, and 20 for 500. The breaking point here is the 350 gold, so you do a soft reset, buying out everything at 350gold and below, and resetting to 499 gold. This is less risky, as you are not buying out every items (including the overpriced items), and you are only buying the cheap items = more chance of a profit. Don't get too overexcited when resetting markets... if someone undercuts you, you must decide whether or not undercut them back, buy out their item, or just leave it. Again it comes down to knowing your markets and knowing the price ranges of items. If you reset primal fire to 1500gold, and someone undercuts you putting another 50 at 1300gold, it's probably not wise to buy that person out. You would be buying for well over market value, and there is no guarantee another person wont come and undercut you again, suddenly leaving you with thousands of primal fires you bought for crazy prices... Remember, you need to buy LOW and sell HIGH
Another example of flipping is purchasing single 'rare' items, such as transmog pieces or BOEs, and relisting at a higher price. If there is only one of a particular item on the auction house, it could be worth doing this. Again however you must know your markets. If the region market value (something you can find out on TSM or TheUndermineJournal website) is much higher than what you are buying for, then you should be good. If not then it is a bit of a risk. Knowledge of items is very important here, for example if you see a 101 BOE with leech, that generally adds around 100k gold or so to the price, depending on the item level. If a 860 101 BOE is listed at the same price as an 860 101 with leech, it could be a good investment to buy out the leech item and reset. When doing this however, you must be prepared to wait a long while before seeing a return on your investment... If you only have 100k gold or so, it may be best to wait before moving into high gold flips.
Be a Tank!
Being a tank is the best way to earn a lot of gold. Tanks currently control the grouping landscape in Warcraft. Earning extra rewards by participating in random instances where tanks are needed is a great way to earn unexpected, and sometimes random, amounts of gold. Also, reward bags can contain gold and other items. One of the items that always sells well is the companions. At one point, I was given the Firefly pet from my bag, which sells for thousands of gold for the server I am on.
The other advantage is that players will actually pay tanks to queue in a group with them just so they can get in instances much faster. You can also use this to charge people to tank in their raid, which could net thousands of gold. Lastly, you can even have your guild charge players to run them through the harder raids. It could still net your guild gear while you get a good amount of gold.
Hunt for Rare Mobs
Rares are plentiful in the game now. Not only can they drop gear, but they can also drop bags that have various resources for you to sell at the Auction House. Rare hunting is a challenge but is a lot of fun to do. For example, Pandaria has many rares, including rares that must be defeated using multiple players. Even though it's old content, it still can prove to be profitable. Many more benefits await if you pursue the full opportunities that rare spawns provide.
You can also do some of the older dungeons and raids to pick up rare items to sell on the auction house. With transmogrification, older gear can usually sell for a lot of gold. Plus there are pets, mounts, and other goodies to be had in the older dungeons and raids. Just make sure to read up on them to ensure you can solo them. Some of them are still hard, even for the most advanced players.
Be a Better World of Warcraft Player
Do all you can to be a better player. It will save you money on repair costs, but more importantly, you won't be wasting time. The faster you progress through content, the more money and items you will earn. If you wipe out during a raid boss over and over again, you will just be losing money and time. Do what you can to learn the content, master your class, and be a better player. You will also make friends and get yourself into a good guild, thus helping you save more gold. The point of earning all of this gold is to get what you want. Being a good player is the best way to do that, and the biggest piece of advice I can give.
Crafting Professions
Another way to make gold. This option works well at level 60 when you have some good gear already. Obviously, you should have some gold ready to buy reagents. Be ready for expenses up to 225 skill points in any profession: items below that are not worth much. You will get first income after 225 skill points in Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, Alchemy or Tailoring. Unfortunately, Engineering and Enchanting will still require some investments. The only way to make gold with enchanting is disenchanting skill (we talked about it).
Engineering is not that profitable choice. Don’t expect to make same amounts of gold as with Alchemy or Tailoring. It is oriented for PVP mostly. But there are some items still everyone needs to completed quests: Mithril Casing, Bronze Tube, Gyrochronatom. Scopes and Basic Explosives are consumables
Leatherworking has three specializations: Elemental, Tribal and Dragonscale. I’d pick up Tribal one. It allows to craft Devilsaur set items. Hunters, Rogues, Warriors, Feral Druids, even Enhancement Shamans and Retribution Paladins are among your potential clients. On any realm there is Un’Goro Mafia on Horde and Alliance, they control whole Un’Goro Crater zone and farm Devilsaurs 24/7. They are making thousands of gold. With Dragonscale Spec you are able to craft Black Dragon Mail set. Good demand as well among DPS classes Warriors, Hunters, Shamans, Paladins, for those who wants Bis Pre-Raid items fast and easy.
Everyone needs bags! If you are a tailor then it’s good business for you to craft Runecloth bags. Besides, Felcloth and Dreamweave items are good in price and most people buy them at level 40 and higher. Some BoE epics like Hide of the Wild are must-have for any Pre-Raid healer.
Being an alchemist is being rich. Everyone needs consumable potions, flasks, elixirs. Some of them are required to complete quests. Passive income is selling transmutation cooldowns every 24 hours.
To get Blacksmithing to level 300 is much effort. It is not that thing to make fast gold. There is always a lack of Blacksmiths though. Enchanters need rods of all kinds, melee classes look for Sharpening Stones and Weightstones with Counterweights, others buy Iron Spurs. Once you have learnt rare and epic recipes, people will always use your service to craft items.
Where to get materials and reagents you may ask? Buy for cheap off farmers in bulk or track Auction House lots. Get in touch with most big sellers. Communication is important here, send a whisper or write them a letter. It would be good for both of you to establish business relationships. Constant suppliers and buyers is convenient for both parties to save the time and effort.
Speaking of proper investment, you can buy WOW Classic Gold in some stores when your inventory is in short supply, as you can't do all the quests on your own. Here is a good store to trade gold, https://www.igvault.com/WOW-Classic-Gold , becoming the nice assistant while playing. You are worried about the price and security, with this in mind, it can be guaranteed on the site, which is cheaper than other stores and protected by a security system.
